Nest Pakoda (Cheese Pakoda With Cheese Substitute) Recipe:
Cheesy Pakoda With Cheese Substitute Ingredients:
Curd – 1 kg
Paneer – 200 gram
Boiled Potato – 2 medium-sized
Green Chillies
Chilli Flakes
Salt – as per taste
Dry Nuts like Cashew and Pista – 7-8 pieces
Garlic – 6-7 cloves
Coriander
Mint leaves – 6-7
Rice flour – 5 teaspoons
Seviyan (Vermicelli)
Oil
Nest Pakoda With Cheese Substitute Process:
- Take a clean cotton cloth and add 1 kg of curd to it. Let the excess water drain out. Tie a knot and hang it. Let it rest for 8 hours. You can also use ready-made chakka (hung curd), or use this chakka maker. With this chakka maker, you can even keep the curd in the fridge overnight, and it won’t go sour. This is our cheese substitute.
- Once your chakka is ready, take it out in a big bowl and beat it well. This is an important step. Before adding anything, beat the chakka really well. It gives that creamy texture.
- Now finely chop green chilli, nuts, garlic, mint leaves, and coriander leaves. Add everything to the chakka.
- Grate the boiled potato and paneer and add them to the chakka. Mix everything well. Add salt and chilli flakes.
- Now add rice flour. Instead of using corn flour or corn starch, I always recommend rice flour. Mix it all well. You will get a thick mixture.
- Now take a plate and start making small cutlet-like or pakoda-like shapes from the mixture. If the mixture is a little loose even after adding rice flour, do not worry. You can put the pakoda shapes in the freezer for 5 to 10 minutes. If the paste is thick enough, avoid this step.
- Now start coating crushed seviyan on the pakodas like we coat breadcrumbs.
- Now deep fry the Nest Cheesy Pakoda. Make sure you fry on a low to medium flame, as we do not want the seviyan to burn.
- Your Nest Cheest Pakoda with a cheesy flavor, without cheese, is ready! Crispy on the outside and cheesy in the inside.

Health Benefits of Nest Pakoda With Cheese Substitute
1. A Smart Cheese Substitute With Protein
One big benefit of this cheese substitute recipe is that it gives you a creamy, rich feel without depending fully on processed cheese. Hung curd and paneer add a good amount of protein, which helps keep you full for longer. That makes Nest Cheesy Pakoda not just a snack, but a filling one too, especially for growing kids.
2. Better for Gut Health
Since this cheese pakoda uses curd as a base, it can be easier on the stomach compared to very heavy fried cheese snacks. Curd brings natural goodness and can support digestion too. So while Nest Cheesy Pakoda feels indulgent, it has a wholesome side as well.
3. More Nutrition in Every Bite
This is not your regular pakoda. With nuts, herbs, paneer, potatoes, and garlic, Nest Cheesy Pakoda packs multiple nutrients in one snack. You get healthy fats, some fibre, vitamins, and minerals. For kids who avoid eating “healthy food,” this can be a fun way to add nutrition.
4. A Lighter Alternative to Processed Cheese Snacks
If you have been searching for a homemade cheese substitute, this recipe can be a great option. Many packaged cheese snacks contain preservatives or are heavily processed. This cheese pakoda gives you that soft, cheesy feel in a fresher, homemade way, which many people may prefer.
5. Energy-Boosting and Kid-Friendly
Because Nest Cheesy Pakoda has potato, paneer, curd, and rice flour, it can give a nice energy boost. It is the kind of snack kids may enjoy after school or before playtime. Crispy outside, creamy inside, and packed with goodness, this cheese pakoda is one of those rare snacks that feels tasty and nourishing together.
